It’s been a little over a week and we’re still recovering from all the good times we had at Gay Wine Weekend.
Though it was first time at that particular event, it was our fourth visit to Sonoma County. And to be honest, we’re always looking for excuses to return to this gorgeous part of Northern California.
Well, we—and you!—are in luck because not only can all vacation in Sonoma County this fall with a gloriously gay event as a highlight.
Russian River Pride 2024 takes over charming Guerneville, a queer haven in the region, for a parade through town and party with several days of events leading up to the big Saturday.

In between Pride festivities, you can get your fill of wine at area vineyards. Or better still, pull up a seat at Equality Vines (also in Guerneville) for some delectable wines supporting tremendously important causes.
Spend some time at Rainbow Cattle Company, the only gay bar in the region, as well as R3 Hotel, a fab place to stay in the heart of the Pride celebration (with rooms still available if you book soon).
American Airlines offers nonstop flights directly from DFW into Santa Rosa, making it easier than ever to reach Sonoma County.
September is a beautiful time of year to visit, as autumnal colors mix with the towering pine trees for an escape that will nourish your soul. As for being good for your body, well, it all depends on how much wine you drink during your stay.
And on the flight there.
And on the flight home.
Well, it’ll be nourishing for your soul. Let’s leave it at that.
