Same Ol’ Schlong And Dance

Naked Boys Singing ranks right up there with Snakes On A Plane for pointing out the obvious. And to take the comparison a little further, both are giddy guilty pleasures. And come to think of it, both feature “snakes.” (Perhaps this topic will be our thesis when we finally get our Ph.D.)

For any gay who’s never seen the stage production of Naked Boys, the off-Broadway hit musical comedy revue featuring a variety pack of hot guys in every size, shape and color singing their hearts out and their clothes off, you’re in for a treat.

It’s like Chippendales without all the steroids and Fabio emulations, plus one important addition: talent.

But if you haven’t made it to L.A. or NYC for the live show, you finally have the opportunity to have ten naked men in your living room (well, other than that last Tupperware Party where somebody brought those funny brownies), thanks to the television premiere on here! Gay Television On Demand.

The movie is nothing more than a filmed version of the stage show, complete with a live audience. Rather than just a camcorder-on-a-tripod approach, there are several angles employed for a better view of the action than a seat in the theater.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of cheesy, unnecessary filters and transitions that sometimes distract rather than enhance. But the songs are still witty and though the sound appears dubbed for the sake of better quality, these guys can really sing.

The nudity quickly loses any sort of shock value by the end of the first song, where they’ve already performed a high-kick chorus line. After that, it’s just a bunch of flopping penises attached to pretty voices.

But that’s not a bad thing.

Premieres tonight on here! Gay Television On Demand or downloadable online (PC only)
