Consider this official notice. Don’t eat any hamburgers for the rest of the week. Or any red meat for that matter. Save the craving for Sunday when you will eat enough beef in one sitting to make every vegan in a 15-mile-radius cry uncontrollably for no apparent reason.
For the third year in a row, DIFFA Dallas presents Burgers & Burgundy, the premiere event to see and be seen. And get extremely full. We’ve never been to a charity party before where we didn’t leave famished, no matter how many deviled guppy egg hors d’oeuvres were passed.
Burgers & Burgundy is the exception. In fact, last year we didn’t even get to taste all the great food and wine pairings before our pants split in three places. (Now that’s our kind of party!)
Chefs from all over Dallas (and even some from other cities) each create their ultimate burger and pair it with a great wine (or Grey Goose Vodka cocktail). Simply walk around from station to station and eat until your arteries harden, your heart explodes or you’re chosen as the new cover model for Hefty Gay magazine. (Just make sure to wipe that trail of mayo off your face before the cameras come out.)
This year, the event moves to One Arts Plaza where John Tesar (Chef/Owner of The Commissary), Tim Byres (Executive Chef/Owner of Smoke), Scott Romano (Executive Chef of Charlie Palmer), Teicchi Sakurai (Chef/Owner Tei An) and many more greats showcase their meaty creations.
It’s a great way to spend a Sunday evening. And if you leave hungry, either your mouth is wired shut or you’re one of those gays who never eats in public.
We’re sooo not that type of gay.
