Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Donna Somerville

It’s impossible to hear disco music and not want to get up and boogie.

Tomorrow, Jimmy Somerville releases Homage, an album that pays loving tribute to the decadent days of disco.

It was only in our CD player for about 3.2 seconds before we were smiling, singing along and dancing to the extent we could from behind the wheel of our luxuriously appointed Honda.

The album includes daring original songs from the guy who gave Bronski Beat and The Communards their unique sound. We love them all, but “Travesty” (above) is every bit as fun and funky as any song written in the height of disco days.

Homage is pure joy from first note to last and should be the go-to playlist for your next big gay party.

Or just dancing in your car like all the cool kids are doing.
