Just a short drive from the Shete Boka National Park and Playa Forti is Jaanchie’s, an utterly charming restaurant serving authentic island cuisine. There are hundreds of birds just outside the open-air restaurant, but they never enter the dining room. The owner comes and sits at every table as a “walking, talking” menu. He describes the daily specials in as much detail as you require. We dined on goat stew, fried shrimp and iguana. Yep, iguana. Tastes like chicken with a million tiny bones.
