Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Lordy, Lordy, Look Who’s 40!

Dallas Pride hits a milestone celebration this year: four decades of taking the LGBTQ message of equality to the streets!

We get asked often about Dallas’ two Pride celebrations. So in case you’re one of the many still questioning this, don’t worry. You’re clearly not alone.

This weekend, the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade (the one that used to be in the gayborhood, but moved to Fair Park in 2019) returns for its 40th year. (After taking off in 2020.)

In addition to the Dallas Pride Music Festival starring Allison Ponthier the day before, these events mark the official kickoff to Pride Month in North Texas. Then you have the rest of June to explore Pride in other cities, such as San Antonio and Portland.

Pride in Dallas, meanwhile, takes up the September slot previously occupied by Dallas Pride.

So even if you’re out of town this weekend, you can still plan some queer cheer come autumn. Better still, go to both and let your freak flag fly and embrace the love of our community.
