Black Tie Dinner Delivers $1.38 Million to LGBTQ+ Organizations

Big community money news this week. Black Tie Dinner officially distributed $1.38 million to LGBTQ+ organizations across North Texas, and it is a reminder of just how much impact one night can have when a community shows up year after year.

The funds were announced at Black Tie Dinner’s annual Wrap Party, generously underwritten by Lexus, following the organization’s 44th Annual Black Tie Dinner held on November 8. This year’s theme, Still We Rise, felt especially timely as local nonprofits continue to meet growing demand for services.

This year’s distribution supports a wide range of organizations addressing critical needs, including health care, housing stability, crisis intervention, mental health services, HIV and AIDS care, transgender support, reproductive health, inclusive faith programs and arts organizations focused on LGBTQ+ storytelling. In addition to its North Texas beneficiaries, Black Tie Dinner also supported its national beneficiary, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, along with two recipients of the expanded John Thomas Beyond the Tie Fund.

Senior Co-Chair Liliana Villarreal shared that the theme resonated strongly with supporters and reflected the resilience of the community despite ongoing challenges. Junior Co-Chair Deirdre Coleman emphasized that many beneficiary organizations are meeting urgent needs with compassion and courage, making this year’s distribution especially meaningful.

With this latest round of giving, Black Tie Dinner has now distributed more than $33 million to LGBTQ+ supportive organizations since 1982. That long-term commitment has helped shape North Texas into a stronger and more connected community.

Looking ahead, the 45th Annual Black Tie Dinner is scheduled for November 14, 2026. Information about sponsorships, volunteering, beneficiary applications and event updates can be found at blacktie.org.
