Ace of Bass

usa-09_11_14If you were to stop by our offices on any given day, you’d find our desk hidden by a pile of music CDs, boxes of men’s underwear and at least half a dozen Bluetooth speaker systems.

Not everything we’re sent passes our stringent tests of desirability, but we’re always happy to spread the news when we find something we love.

Our latest obsession is the Sony SRS-X5, a powerful 20-watt system with a bass-thumping subwoofer and ClearAudio technology that combine to deliver absolutely incredible sound. The rechargeable unit comes in red, white or black to match any decor and features up to eight hours of playback on a single charge.

It wirelessly connects to any Bluetooth audio source, whether it’s a digital music player, smartphone, tablet or computer. The USB outlet in the back makes it easy to charge your devices while listening to music, too.

When the unit is connected to your phone, you can even make or receive calls from the unit. This is great when the speaker system is next to the pool and your phone is several feet away on your lounge chair. It’s also fantastic if you have a group of people who all want to be a part of the conversation.

It’s devices like this one that make us wish we wrote about technology every day.

But don’t worry. Next week, we have a CD and some sexy new underwear to share.

It’s the circle of gay life.
