Ticket To A Train Wreck

Everybody loves a guilty pleasure.

But we think we’ve maybe discovered a new reality TV category: Guilty torture.

As part of Logo TV’s transition from the “gay network” to something as of yet indefinable, we seriously hope their schedule fills up with better shows than Eden’s World, a nearly unwatchable series about 6-year-old pageant retiree, Eden Wood.

You may know her from the viral videos that featured her performing her “breakout hit,” Cutie Patootie. The legit video got a million hits, but the one claiming that she was really a drunken dwarf got more than 1.2 million views.

Sure, Eden Wood is cute. There’s no denying it. But is there anything about her that makes her stand out from other 6-year-old girls as the superstar her mother and handlers are leading her to believe? Not really.

But Auto-Tune, Photoshop and a reality show can make a star out of almost anyone.

What’s really tragic about Eden’s World are the adults. They all seem motivated to make a buck off this young girl, no matter what it takes. Under the guise of “helping other pageant girls succeed,” the show is more about the grown-ups behaving badly, chief among them an obnoxious, confrontational gay named Andrew. As Eden’s over-confident publicist trying to poach the young star from her current manager, he’s an embarrassment to gays everywhere.

Maybe that’s what the new Logo wants.

We’re just here to warn you not to waste your time.

Eden’s World
Premieres tonight at 10:00 p.m./9:00 p.m. Central
