Blessing.  Breakdown.  Brazen.

To B or not to B.

Blessing.  Big news from the Vatican Rag.  When the Catholics stoop to honoring the sodomites and lesbyterians, I guarantee that end times are near and that Armageddon is on the horizon!  How dare an institution of unmarried men in dresses and hats be allowed to bless same-sex unions!  Shouldn’t those priests remain behind the shroud of their own celibacy?  Yet here we are . . . Pope Reverend Pastor Francis has raised a bony finger to strike down another brick in the wall of the church.  Fortunately, conservative priests here in America are rebelling against this homo-blessed edict.  This certainly comforts me as a Babatist.  After all, priests need to stick to old-fashioned Catholic ways and “suffer the little children.”

Breakdown.  I’m praying for the cholesterol levels of Brother Elon Musk, since he is certainly feasting on all of the egg on his face these days.  Whether he is sticking his foot in his mouth, degrading the Hebrews, having his pasty human vessel photographed abroad or ruining perfectly fine towns in Texas, he is just a mess.  Now, his precious creation of Tesla vehicles has been dealt a crushing blow.  Every single unit of this product is being recalled for a flaw causing a breakdown.  Apparently, automatic pilot was a bit of a stretch when Elon touted it for his cars.  After recent accidents and/or deaths from errant Tesla maneuvering, every single car he has made has to go back to the drawing board for a fix.  This just can’t be good.  I’m just grateful that I haven’t given up my economic Rambler in exchange for an electric vehicle.  I can drive it MYSELF just fine, thankyouverymuch, and a gas station in Texas is a heck of a lot easier to find than a charging station.  Or even a very long extension cord.

Brazen.  I’m a little late in observing this passing, but I need to comment on the life of Brother Norman Lear.  Much like many Biblical Jews, he was awarded with a long life of 101 years.  I daresay the comparisons of his life to anyone in the Bible stop there.  The fact that the Lord allowed Norman such a long life is a mystery to me, considering the way he changed the face of television and what is considered family fare.  When his most well-known television creation, ALL IN THE FAMILY, aired in the early 1970s, I was AGHAST at the outright brazenness of the show’s characters and topics.  (Not to mention that Sister Stapleton’s voice in the opening credits always triggered memories of my Aunt Hazel in church!)  As if that show wasn’t bad enough, its success gave Brother Lear impetus to create spin-off shows like MAUDE (liberal, abortion-loving woman), GOOD TIMES and THE JEFFERSONS (opinionated black people) and ONE DAY AT A TIME (divorced woman with a drug-addled daughter).  Filth!  At least the Almighty has also granted long life to another television legend in spite of his name having “Dick” and “Dyke” in it.
