Scent From The Heavens Above

Capturing the essence of a city in a fragrance can be tricky.

Especially if we’re talking something like the French Quarter in New Orleans. Nobody needs that commemorated in a cologne!

But Zodica Perfumery takes a more ethereal approach to its fragrance creation. The perfumers there turn to the zodiac and the natal chart (based on when someone or something was born) to bring to life a nuanced fragrance known simply as Eau de Dallas.

If you’re not caught up on your Dallas history, the city got its first town charter on February 2, 1856. When it comes to astrology, we don’t know much (or anything really other than our own sign), so we’ll take their word for the origins of this fragrance.

According to the company, it’s “a wild spirit tamed, the scent reflects placements of Aquarius (Stellium: Sun, Chiron, Midheaven), Taurus (Stellium: Ascendant, Uranus, Pluto), Capricorn (Venus), and Aries (North Node).”

The resulting fragrance has notes of leather, herbs, yuzu, tobacco, sage, cedarwood, musk, white fir, bergamot, lavender and sandalwood. The combination makes us feel warm, cozy and ready to nuzzle up to any man who might be wearing it, resting our head gently in the nape of his neck to truly enjoy the experience.

As part of the Wanderlust Collection, it makes an ideal gift for someone who’s just moved to the city, someone who’s homesick for Dallas, or really anyone who wants a fragrance with a fun backstory.

Currently, the collection also includes New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and the states of Texas and Wisconsin. (We promise, the latter doesn’t smell like cheese!)

Best of all, you can order one of each in tiny, travel-size 2ml vials, then order a larger bottle of the one you love the most.

Because you smelling great in Dallas today was written in the stars nearly two centuries ago.
