Spend A Night With These Boys

As crazy as things seem right now for the LGBTQ+ community, imagine what our lives would be like if it were 1968 right now.

Though we weren’t even born yet, we can only barely begin to comprehend the struggles of queer people before the Stonewall riots.

When it premiered off-Broadway in 1968, The Boys in the Band busted out of the closet with a story of gay men in New York City that’s as relatable today as it was then. Even for those of us in cities outside Manhattan.

The Uptown Players cast includes Quintin Jones Jr., Caddo Lindsey, Ryan Maffei, Nick Marchetti, Ian Mead Moore, Ethan Mullins, Seth Paden, Noah Randall and Clayton Younkin, with direction by Dennis Canright.

Playwright Mart Crowley crafted a tale that truly captures the dynamic of many friend groups comprised of gay men. The emotionally charged, often raw plot delivers moments that are funny, tragic, dramatic and hopeful—sometimes simultaneously.

Tickets start at $35 and the show runs from August 16-25 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, so you have two full weekends to catch this iconic production.

Now, let’s hear it for the boys!
