Faith, Hope & Clarity

Sometimes Cupid needs a challenge.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Uptown Players presents we are continuous by Harrison David Rivers.

The regional premiere takes place at Theatre Three, an intimate setting for a complex story of love.

Love both romantic and familial.

Simon (Quintin Jones) is a gay Black man married to a white guy named Abe (Micah Brooks)—much to the dismay of Simon’s devout Christian mom, Ora (Denise Lee).

Directed by Natalie King, the emotional production features multi-dimensional characters and powerful dialogue to tell a story that’s all too familiar to any of us who’ve dealt with religious backlash to our queerness.

It’s a fantastic way to kick off Uptown Players’ 2025 roster of entertainment, which includes Broadway Our Way, Xanadu and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

While you’re there, go ahead and buy season tickets for the love of God. (Damn, religion got us again!)
