Rooty Tooty Fresh New Judy!

A woman in a vintage dress performs on stage, singing passionately, with a microphone visible and a festive background.

Longtime fans know the name: Janelle Farias Sando. Or perhaps Janelle Lutz, as she was known back in her Uptown Players heyday.

The wildly gifted entertainer brought Judy Garland to life for the first time in The Boy from Oz, End of the Rainbow and A Very Judy Christmas from 2014-2018, a few magical years of music.

Sando has since moved to New York where you can catch her on stages all over the city, including frequent performances singing at the Stonewall Inn.

But in November, she returns to her old stomping grounds at the Kalita Humphreys Theater in Road to Carnegie: Me, Judy & Myself.

You’ll hear all of Garland’s biggest hits between Sando’s stories about her career and the impact Garland has had on it. Rather than a straightforward recreation of the 1961 Carnegie Hall concert often called “the greatest night in show business history,” this show provides something even more intimate and raw.

It’s a special, surprise add-on to the Uptown Players epic 25th season and she’ll stage the one-woman show for two performances only: Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m.

The moment word got out, tickets began selling quickly, but you can still snag fantastic orchestra seats and meet-and-greet opportunities with Sando.

Tickets start at $35, with meet-and-greet tickets in the front three rows going for $90.

Be among an elite few to experience the return of Janelle Farias Sando as Judy Garland, an excellent kick-off to the holiday season.
