Polaris would appreciate a little room on the couch. At 82 pounds, “a little” may be open to interpretation.
This handsome 7-year-old has a generous smile and an affectionate personality to match. He’s a gentle giant who wants to be close to his people, preferably with plenty of opportunities for cuddling. Anyone looking for a substantial presence around the house should find him suitably qualified.
His wish list is refreshingly reasonable. A comfortable place to stretch out. Someone who enjoys spending time with him. The occasional compliment about his good looks would probably go over well, too.
Polaris is at an age when the simple pleasures hold considerable appeal. A quiet evening together could be the highlight of his day, especially if it includes some affection and a spot where he can settle in beside you. He has plenty of sweetness to offer a family willing to make room for him.
There’s something appealing about a fellow who knows what he wants, particularly when what he wants is your company. Polaris doesn’t need an elaborate itinerary to enjoy being part of your life. Being included is the point.
As one of the SPCA of Texas’ Senior Sweethearts, pets ages 6 and older, Polaris also qualifies for a waived adoption fee. That leaves a little extra in the budget for a generously sized dog bed.
Though he may have his eye on your couch.
Polaris is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. Meet him at the SPCA of Texas Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive in Dallas, open daily from noon to 6 p.m. His adoption fee is waived through the Senior Sweethearts program.
