Let Them Eat Cream Puffs

By now you’ve probably heard about Saturday night’s No Tie Dinner, an event where individuals host meals at their homes without all the formality of tuxedos and gowns.

If you don’t know about the event, that means you probably weren’t invited to any of the dozens of dinners taking place all over town.

Don’t worry, we weren’t either.

But that’s not going to stop us from crashing the dessert party at the Frontiers of Flight museum afterward with an elaborate story of the fantastic meal we enjoyed with some hot underwear model who treated us to Hot Pockets, Doritos-shell tacos from Taco Bell and a lovely seared foie gras with roasted fig compote over organic arugula.

They’ll all be jealous because we went to a No Pants Dinner while they simply lost their bow ties. And maybe the top button on their Robert Grahams.

Yet whether you are attending a dinner at someone’s house or simply didn’t get the engraved invitation, it’s all good. You can still attend the most anticipated part of the evening and still make a significant impact on raising funds for AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD).

A $50 donation gets you into the afterparty for tons of desserts, gallons of cocktails and hours of dancing.

No Tie Dinner is the biggest fundraiser of the year for ASD, which provides housing and supportive services to low-income and formerly homeless men, women, children and families living with HIV/AIDS.

It’s a great cause and the ultimate cure for anyone with a sweet tooth. No matter how bitter you may be if you weren’t asked to dinner. Just know that you’re always welcome to join us at the Bell.

Enchiritos all around!
