Maximum Mimosa Overload

Gays go to brunch for one of two reasons. Either to be seen sporting a healthy glow and the latest sunglasses while seated on a fab patio, or to drink insane amounts of Mimosas.

At Urban Taco’s new weekend brunch, you get to do both.

Not satisfied to pour mere orange-juice-and-champagne combos down our gullets, Urban Taco has created a menagerie of bubbly breakfast bevvies that are anything but ordinary.

It’s time to think outside the flute, people.

Start with a Guava Mimosa, which features Prosecco, guava nectar and Serrano chile-infused agave nectar. Then work your way up to a Fresa, filled with Prosecco, strawberry, pineapple and rosemary. Skip the Orange (even though they serve a delicious fresh-squeezed juice) and opt for the Berry, which throws fresh muddled berries into the mix.

All those should help prepare you for the Mother of All Mimosas, the Urban Swirl. Starring Prosecco, sangria and mango, it’s like a beautiful breakfast margarita.

While they don’t feature bottomless here, it’s probably for the best. Because we’d never stop drinking these (and it wouldn’t be the first time gays have put a restaurant out of business for offering unlimited cocktails).

Of course, there’s great food to help soak up the libations. Like hearty breakfast tacos. Unusual build-your-own-omelette toppings like pork al pastor, Barbacoa, or aged Manchego cheese.

The Huevos Rancheros come on a crispy tortilla and they’re killer. Ditto the red-sauce Chilaquiles.

But they’re all leading up to the main event: Brunch dessert. Get an order of La Jolla French Toast to share with the table. You won’t regret a bite of the freshly baked sourdough bread, homemade cajeta caramel, bruléed banana, strawberries and guajillo candied pecans.

Then, it’s back on the Mimosa train for the rest of the afternoon.

All aboard!
