Eat, Drink & Be Hairy

Dogs make everything better.

Sledding, for instance. Cats suck at it.

Dog and pony shows? Without the canines, just a lame kid’s birthday party.

And velvet paintings of ferrets playing poker are just plain trashy.

Well, in two weeks you have a chance to party with some rock-star pooches at Kibble & Cocktails, produced by our good friends over at Barking Hound Village (where all our bitches go to get their R&R).

The evening’s festivities benefit DFW Rescue Me, a true no-kill organization working tirelessly to find loving homes for their adorable, fuzzy, four-legged babies. To date, they’ve saved 487 dogs. (More than 15 times your average lesbian!)

Kibble and Cocktails features fantastic food tastings from Nick and Sam’s, Steel, Lombardi restaurants, Victor Tangos and Jorge’s Tex-Mex. As for the cocktail portion, William Grant & Sons is opening up their vast portfolio and mixing up drinks featuring Hendrick’s Gin, Milagro Tequila and Stoli Vodka. Gulp!

Along with live music and dogs available for adoption, Jenna Owens from Kidd Kraddick in the Morning serves as host.

Plus, our favorite part of the night, the silent auction raffle.

Unlike other charity events where the person with the most money walks away with all the great stuff, the playing field has been leveled. Simply purchase raffle tickets at the event and drop them into the appropriate box for the item of your dreams. You could win Southwest Airlines tickets, a shopping spree at Forty Five Ten or a personalized photo session from Thank Dog Photography (among tons of other prizes) with just one ticket.

Of course, you’ll want to increase your odds by purchasing more. Because we know first-hand that a dog’s greatest trick is getting you to open up your wallet with Sad Puppy Face.
