Whenever biscuits are featured prominently on a brunch menu, we become abnormally excited. And when they’re done as well as they are at Del Frisco’s Grille, we’re ready to make a Biscuit Speedo and dive head first into a Jacuzzi filled with gravy. Chorizo gravy.
Yet brunch here is about far more than just biscuits. It’s also about booze for breakfast. Like carafes of Mimosas. Or individual make-your-own Bloody Mary setups (complete with pickled veggies and bacon).
Our favorite cockadoodle-cocktail, though, is easily the Morning After, a refreshing blend of coconut vodka, coconut water, a splash of Sprite and a squeeze of fresh lime. On our visit, it was just a daily special, but they promised us they’d make it for you if you ask. (At least until it finds a permanent home on the by-the-carafe list, hint-hint.)
Of course, if you’re going to drink your way to noon, you’ve gotta get some food in your belly. The Grille Benedict (pictured) features white cheddar biscuits, ham, poached eggs and a surprisingly spicy chipotle hollandaise. Incredible.
Chicken-fried steak and eggs is also a decadent dish, featuring another giant biscuit and an even bigger piece of fried beef covered in chorizo gravy, everything Del Frisco’s Grille is known for on one gorgeous plate.
Then, prepare for the grand finale, a brunch dessert for the history books: Red Velvet Waffles. Drizzled in luscious cream cheese icing, these could be the first waffles ever that don’t need one drop of syrup.
Just gallons of your love and adoration.
