At some point in each of our lives, they brought us comfort by letting us cuddle up with them in bed, tickling their fat bellies and whispering to them our deepest, darkest secrets.
Nothing like a bear to make us feel all warm inside.
And nothing like a teddy bear to remind us of more innocent times in bed with furry creatures.
Sunday, the Dallas Bears present their Annual Teddy Bear Auction at The Round-Up, which combines the best of both bear worlds.
Proceeds from the creatively personalized teddy bears and other auction items benefit AIDS Services of Dallas. Last year, the event raised more than $4,300. Pretty impressive.
Among the non-stuffed-animal items up for bid this year are tickets on Southwest Airlines, jewelry and a legal package that includes power of attorney, medical power of attorney and wills for a same-sex couple to simulate the benefits of a legally recognized marriage.
It’s a wildly fun event and the perfect way to end the weekend.
