Hall Mark

There are places all over town that hold a special place in our heart.

The dance floor at S4.

The very back booth at Hunky’s.

And many a bush at Lee Park.

Of course, we’ve also made lots of memories on the lawn at Lee Park, whether during the Easter celebration, Gay Pride or sweating off the pounds at Dr. Peay’s Booty Camp.

This month, the beautiful Arlington Hall at Lee Park (above) celebrates its 75th anniversary. And that means several opportunities to make brand new memories.

Free events include an outdoor screening of Gone with the Wind tonight and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington tomorrow. Both films start promptly at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, there’s a celebration luncheon inside Arlington Hall with Gary Scott, Director Emeritus of the National Park Service ($75; reservations required).

Then the anniversary festivities all culminate Sunday with an open house from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Featuring tours of the building filled with fascinating tidbits about the building’s illustrious history, it’s a great way to pay tribute to a building that has been in the background of so many of our favorite moments in life.

Except all that Dr. Peay stuff.
