Big Tex, big hair and a bunch of pussycats. That pretty much sets up expectations perfectly for It Came from Dallas 9 – The Show with 9 Lives.
This annual fundraiser for the Dallas Producers Association showcases the films, TV shows and commercials that have been made in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, including vintage productions from the area’s B-movie past. Just check out the videos below to fully understand the true camp appeal.
The event is free, but because this is a fundraiser, it’s expected that you’ll donate at least ten bucks. Food and drinks are available for purchase and there’s a raffle that includes prizes like acting classes and wine tastings.
Film historian Gordon K. Smith will be back with “Gordon’s Vault,” an always-impressive collection of fun trailers and clips from cult classic and lesser-known films made in the Dallas area or around the state of Texas.
It’s a quirky event bursting with local pride and a mission to keep Dallas on the map as a great destination for film and television productions.
Who knows, you might just get discovered for a little “legitimate” film work.
