We love that more and more events are calling Fair Park home. Especially events where we can eat until we’re stuffed without having to use a single coupon with Big Tex’s head on it.
This Wednesday, Iron Fork returns with its grand tasting event featuring grub from Amberjax, Kessler Park Eating House, Banh Shop, Asador, Kin Kin Urban Thai and Sissy’s, plus dozens of other favorites.
Our favorite part of the night (besides the beer and wine) is the Chef Challenge. Moderated by Abacus’ Chef Kent Rathbun, this year pits reigning champ Matt McCallister of FT33 going head-to-head with Omar Flores of Casa Rubia. Like Iron Chef, they have to create a dish from a basket of secret ingredients.
It’s like a 42-course dinner and a show.
