Think you’ve been together with your man a long time? Or that blind date last week seemed to last an eternity?
Try being with the same man for 54 years.
When it comes to gay icons in Dallas, there are no more wonderful men to represent all the best things of our community than Jack Evans and George Harris. You’ve likely met them at a charity event, seen them on TV or at least heard their names.
Or maybe you haven’t.
In any case, much of what we take for granted today can be traced back to the efforts of these two men and many other brave GLBT people like them.

The couple married in 2014 after a 53-year courtship and they’ve been a vital part of our collective history, witnessing every setback and advance along the way. As founders of The Dallas Way, an organization whose mission is to gather, store, organize, and present the complete GLBT history of Dallas, Texas, their legacy will be even greater.
Tonight, everyone is invited to come celebrate these pioneers for a delightful wine reception and art show. Jack will be selling some of his paintings, proceeds from which benefit The Dallas Way.
Make sure you bring your autograph book.
These are the kind of celebrities that really matter.
Tonight, May 8, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
