Streaming With Pride

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without at least one viewing of Home Alone.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving makes every bite of turkey somehow taste better.

And every Arbor Day, we always watch the original Poltergeist and slow-mo the scene when the tree attacks the kid. Always hilarious.

So why shouldn’t we have the same type of viewing rituals for Pride Month?

Fandor, the premiere service for streaming indie, foreign and classic films, has just released An Alternative Guide to LGBTQ Cinema, a wonderful resource chronicling the history of LGBTQ films from 1924 through present day.

Written by film critic Dennis Harvey, it explores important themes and milestone moments in queer cinema. The movies discussed are just a handful of the nearly 200 LGBTQ films available for streaming on the site.

We’re still working our way through the catalog of flicks, but so far our new Pride movie tradition is leaning toward The Hot Nights of Linda.

But Saturday Night at the Baths is looking pretty promising, too.
