It’s time for a come to Jesús moment.
But you’ll have to wait until Saturday.
That’s when Dallasite Jesús Cháirez will speak about his experiences in the city as a gay man from the early ‘80s through today as part of the speaker series at TeCo Theatrical Productions.
As an organizer and the first president of DFW’s original gay Latino organization, Gay Hispanic Colaition de Dallas in 1982, he was at the center of the community during a time of great change, both good and bad.
From 1993-2005, he was the host of Sin Fronteras, the first GLBT bilingual Latino radio show in the United States.
There will also be a discussion portion facilitated by Sylvana Alonzo, so this is your chance to ask questions and get his perspective on our community and the state of equality nationwide.
Keeping our history alive is important.
Because it’s not all about glam and glitter.
