MIKA can do no wrong.
Other than the fact that he sent us his latest album while we were on vacation and we’re woefully behind in singing the praises of his singing.
But good things don’t come to those who wait, great things do. Because how else could MIKA’s fourth full-length album, No Place in Heaven, be his best yet?
We actually wore out his Life in Cartoon Motion CD we played it so much, something we hadn’t done since the cassette version of Madonna’s True Blue. In fact, we loved the songs “Grace Kelly,” “Lollipop” and “Billy Brown” so much, we purchased tickets to see him perform live in Los Angeles, building an entire vacation around the experience.
So, yes, we have a bit of an infatuation with the sexy Beirut-born Brit. His songs never shy away from sexuality and they always make us want to get up and dance—or reflect on the complexities of love if he happens to be crooning one of his occasional ballads.
No Place in Heaven is already our new summer soundtrack.
And if we wear out the CD, we’re not worried. There’s always iTunes to replace it.
