Wilkommen, y’all.
Cabaret is coming back to Dallas this May and the only thing that would make us more excited would be the Emcee himself sitting in our lap asking for help adjusting his suspenders.
That’s because Cabaret is one of the few Broadway shows we see Every. Time. It. Comes. To. Town.
And we’ll definitely be first in line for opening night now that we know that an all-grown-up Randy Harrison (Justin from Showtime’s Queer As Folk) is on board as Emcee.
It’s hard to believe, but this iconic musical is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. So if you’ve never seen Cabaret, this is a prime opportunity to experience a legendary masterpiece of theatrical entertainment. Set in the Kit Kat Klub, the story unfolds as the Nazis are rising to power, a stark contrast against the pure unadulterated decadence of the underground nightlife scene in Berlin.
The national tour coming to Dallas is Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall’s iconic version of the hit show, which won four Tony Awards in 1998 including Best Revival of a Musical.
And if our stack of Playbills is accurate, we’ve seen this particular version 11 times. Here’s to making it an even dozen with the sincere hope you’ll join us.
Nothing worse than being the only one in the theater with a suspenders fetish.
