Dead children whisper-singing nursery rhymes is probably the scariest thing ever.
That, or chilling movies and TV shows that take place in ye-oldy-timey days. (The telegram is coming from inside the house!)
Now that we’ve blown through nearly every horror flick on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime in anticipation of The Night Scary Clowns Will Murder Us All, we’ve been on the (witch)hunt for something new to keep us awake at night.
And BBC America delivers.
The Living and the Dead stars the sexy Colin Morgan (pictured above) as a Victorian-era psychologist who moves back to his family’s estate (a creepy one, of course) with his wife. Immediately, he encounters one strange case after another, potentially supernatural in nature.
The creepy series premieres tomorrow night on BBC America and on Friday, the entire six-episode series will be available to binge stream on BBCAmerica.com and the BBC America app. It’s a scary, nuanced production that should easily tide us over until Halloween night.
Which is when we’ll add “people who scream with British accents” to our list of scary things.
The Living and the Dead
Premieres Thursday, October 27
