We’re always on the hunt.
For a great happy hour, that is. (Because the allure of cheap booze always leads to a drunk frat boy by the end.)
But our criteria for what constitutes a bargain can be pretty strict. We don’t care about any of that dollar-off crap. We want a substantial discount! That’s why we’re sharing the latest weekday specials at one of our favorite new downtown haunts, the casually elegant Grayson Social.
Sit at the bar or grab a seat on the patio and embrace the hustle, bustle and muscle of the city. Every Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Social Hour kicks off and prices on select items drop dramatically. Parking in the area is a total bitch, but you should be taking Uber or Lyft anyway. Right?
For the thirsty set, seven craft cocktails drop from the usual retail price of $15 to a mere five bucks. Choose from a bacon-infused Old Fashioned, a Lemon Rosetini, a Cucumber Gin Fizz, a whiskey-spiked Campfire with toasted marshmallow, a Rose Margarita, a lavender-laced Maker’s Mark drink called the Lavender Maker, and a Smoked Negroni. Five beers go for $3 apiece and house wines drop to $5.
And like our mom always said, “If you’re going to drink that much booze, you better make sure to eat.” Man, why is it the lessons we learn in kindergarten stick with us the longest?
The Social Bites menu actually starts earlier at 4:00 p.m. and goes until 10:00, so if you’re wanting some cheap-and-delicious eats, just sit at the bar. But the best prices are still during that magic 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. window. Fried pickles, prime rib sliders, country-fried chicken bites and house chip & dip drop to $5 whlie a Kobe burger or a meat, cheese and Killer Biscuit board will each only set you back $8.
It’s the only place in town we know where you can get fried chicken, a burger, a beer and a craft cocktail for twenty bucks.
OK, twenty-one.
