Brunch Of The Month: $10 Makes You Hollah!

NOT-SO-BREAKING NEWS ALERT: Dallas loves brunch!

Yep, even Trump couldn’t dispute that little bit of excellent journalistic reporting.

But along with the popularity of the midday weekend meal often comes a hefty price tag. Well, TorTaco changes that. Brunch has been offered at its Fort Worth location for a while, but it only recently debuted at the downtown Dallas outpost and we can’t get enough.

Well, TorTaco changes all that nonsense because, really, should anyone be paying $15 for eggs? Brunch has been offered at its Fort Worth location for a while, but it only recently debuted at the downtown Dallas outpost and we simply can’t get enough.

First off, Bloody Marys, sangria, mimosas and margarita swirls are all just two bucks apiece.

Brunch entrees range from just $5 to $7.

Allow us to do the math for you: Order up a True Grit (white cheddar grits, Applewood smoked bacon, over easy eggs and sourdough toast) for just $6, add in two brunch cocktails and your tab will be a mere 10 dollars.

Whoa.

Or splurge on a $7 entrée, like the Benedict, and you’ll still only be out a whopping 11 bucks before tax and tip.

Better still, we’ve been back multiple times and the Benedict with its crispy pork blade in lieu of the usual Canadian bacon ranks among the top Benedict dishes we’ve had all year. And easily in the Top 5 of All Time, thanks to perfectly cooked eggs and a luscious Hollandaise we’d gladly freebase.

Throw in a spacious patio with spectacular views, a fun staff and lots of great people watching (inside and out) and you have a must-visit brunch destination that’ll leave you more than enough cash to Uber/Lyft both ways and still come out ahead of the meal cost alone at most spots in Dallas.

Just be careful with those $2 swirls.

They could lead to late-evening binges on fried chicken, mashed potatoes and peanut butter cups. (Just to pick a totally hypothetical situation).
