Love Songs In The Key Of E(quality)

This could be huge!

We never really think that much about weddings or love songs, but a new album release has changed all that. Called Universal Love: Wedding Songs Reimagined, this project of MGM Resorts takes classic tunes and gives them an LGBTQ spin.

The result is a refreshing blend of sngs that you’ll experience in a whole new way, whether it’s Bob Dylan‘s “He’s Funny That Way“; St Vincent‘s “And Then She Kissed Me“; Kele Okereke’s “My Guy“; Valerie June’s “Mad About The Girl“; Benjamin Gibbard’s “And I Love HIm”; or Kesha‘s “I Need A Woman To Love Me.”

The only problem with this album is that there are only six songs, but at least they’re all stellar tracks that venture beyond cookie-cutter covers. But we have a feeling this could spark a whole new list of remakes to fill the void within this growing wedding niche.

We’d like to request “When A Man Loves Another Man” from Percy Sledge, if anyone’s listening.
