Righteous, Righteous, Righteous!

We must turn our gaze this week to Washington to pray for righteousness.

Righteous. Merciful Heavens! The Resignation Fairies have been flying fast and loud over our nation’s capital. The latest to be hit be their wands is Speaker of House, Brother Paul Ryan. As a Christian woman, I am touched by his desire to spend more time with his family. This is such a better example to all than those who wanted paid family leave time to spend with their shiftless children……a right which Brother Ryan so righteously denied to them. I pray that this was not the widow’s peak of his career. We all need a man like Paul….named after a great man of the Bible who persecuted scores of people before being struck by a blinding light on the Damascus Road and converted for good. Perhaps when and if Brother Ryan returns to public service, the Sylvania Fairies will have gathered enough wattage to shine on him and knock him flat somewhere along Pennsylvania Avenue. Praise!

Righteous. Not since the Bible has a book so riveted the righteous. Brother James Comey has published a memoir of his time working alongside Donny Trump which has set up the greatest moral dilemma since Our Lord and Savior mocked the Pharisees! Brother Comey has long positioned himself as the “moral conscience” of America. So his righteous claim that Donny is “not fit to be President, on moral grounds” should strike fear and trembling in the hearts of Christians everywhere. (SHOULD being the operative word.) I invite those of you who still own a Bible to re-read the 23rd Chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. These are end times, Brothers and Sisters.

Righteous. Now, on a more heartfelt note, let us gather in prayer for Former First Lady, Sister Barbara Bush.  The Lord has given her a long life of righteousness on this earth. After all, I admire a woman who, when slinging arrows of shade at others, refrains from actually uttering filth, such as when describing Sister Geraldine Ferraro she merely said that the word rhymed with witch. Such a lady! Now the Lord has called her home and may her steadfastness be remembered, and may St. Peter welcome her into glory in spite of one of the dimwitted fruits of her loins. Hallelujah!
