Dallas has more than its fair share of food events. And we go to so many, we’re shocked we ever wake up hungry.
Wednesday night, one of our favorite eat-and-drink affairs returns with an exciting twist. Dallas Observer’s Iron Fork 2018 for the first time ever features two female chefs battling it out on stage while the rest of us mingle around with bites and booze. That’s right, Gabriela McCormick (Fearing’s) and Anastacia Quinones (The Cedars Social) will face off to see who’s Dallas’ cooking queen in an Iron Chef-style showdown.
Don’t for a second think this isn’t an event with big names at every turn, either. Just look at the final list of restaurants.
Tickets are only $45 in advance ($55 at the door) for general admission, but we recommend splurging on the $75 for VIP. That gets you in an hour early for the first crack at all the tasty food, cocktails, beer and wine. Best of all, your attendance equals money for the North Texas Food Bank.
It also may be one of the only times you eat anything this fancy at the State Fair of Texas fairgrounds.
But we sure wouldn’t turn down a corny dog.
