Brunch Of The Week: For Whom The Shell Tolls

If you love oysters, then you’re going to become infatuated with brunch at Hudson House.

The new brunch menu debuted last Saturday and we were among the first people to take it for a spin. The seafood-centric angle of the restaurant makes itself known immediately when THE Royal Bloody hits the table. Not only does it feature a well-balanced, just-spicy-enough housemade mix, it also comes adorned with a fresh oyster, jumbo shrimp and bleu-cheese stuffed olives. At $17 it’s among the pricier Bloodys in town, but it’s a real beauty.

Mimosas, meanwhile, clock in at $5 apiece, so our group opted for prosecco by the bottle, which is a real bargain at 20 bucks for a decent bubbly.

The full lunch menu is offered during brunch, so once again, if you’re into oysters, this is your chance to get a dozen or two of some of the freshest mollusks in Dallas. Order a seafood tower for a real decadent start to your Saturday/Sunday Funday.

Brunch purists, don’t fear. There are plenty of more traditional offerings, including a trio of toasts (avocado, smoked salmon and country ham), as well as a threesome of hollandaise-drizzled Benedicts (traditional smoked ham, smoked salmon or lobster, pictured above).

Additional options include a smoked bacon and egg sandwich, a truffle oil-studded egg white frittata, as well as even-healthier bowls of oatmeal or housemade granola.

The Park Cities location makes it a fun place to people-watch, too, thanks to a nice mixture of socialites and gays. Not to mention more than the occasional DILF.

Also something we love slathered in hollandaise.
