Brunch Of The Week: Asian Inspiration

So, here’s the deal.

The first two months of 2022 found us sick in bed with breakthrough Covid for a full two weeks. Once that was behind us, we returned to traveling as much as possible to get back to some sense of normal as safely as possible.

Because of our wanderlust being back in high gear, we barely were in Dallas long enough to sleep in our own bed a couple of nights in a row, let alone go brunching twice a weekend like normal.

So our Brunch of the Week feature has turned into more of a Brunch of the Whenever We Can Get to It. (But that’s not nearly as easy to search on Google). That’s not going to stop us from telling you about our favorite places whenever we can, though.

Last weekend we had a rare two brunching days in a row and fell right back into the rhythm of slurping down Tito’s Bloody Marys placing side bets on how deliciously runny the egg yolks would be on our latest Benedict.

Rather than start completely from scratch with a brand-new eatery, we eased our way back onto the Dallas brunch scene by visiting the new Preston Center location of one of our all-time favorite restaurants: Malai Kitchen. Not only is their latest outpost GORgeous, but the food’s also consistently among the best in town—brunch, lunch or dinner.

Join us at a virtual seat on the patio and feast your eyes upon our three favorite brunch dishes not just of the week—but quite possibly of all time—along with their menu descriptions.

Then hop on Malai Kitchen’s website and reserve a real table for this weekend.

You can thank us later.

soft-poached egg and sliced crispy bread, then topped with slivered ginger, green onions, cilantro and sesame oil.
