The gay high holidays are almost over, but we still have a few days left to cram in a ton of Halloween parties and events.
So we thought in between debuting our Sexy Steve Bannon prison outfit and our open-minded drag persona, Bi Felicia, we thought we’d hit up a couple of charity-minded Halloween events for the LGBTQ+ community.
First up, the North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce brings back its hugely popular event, Spooktacular, benefiting the LGBT Chamber Foundation Scholarship Fund.
This year, the open-bar event (yes, you read that correctly!) takes over Justin “JT” Williams’ Independence Title office at 3829 North Hall Street for the evening. It’s only a couple of blocks from the street party, so you can come-and-go for the full Halloween experience.
Better still, a VIP Spooktacular ticket gets you to the front of the line for entry to S4 at any point in the evening you want a change of scenery.
Then, on Sunday, the LGBTQ-welcoming Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff presents its Fall Market during the day with psychics, numerous vendors, and drag story time, plus a spooky, family-friendly Haunted Forest after the sun goes down.
The event is technically free, but a $10 suggested donation is encouraged for the Haunted Forest with proceeds benefiting the inclusive programs of the church.
So whether you’re looking for a philanthropic place to dress up and drink, get your future predicted, walk through some creepy woods—or all of the above—these two events should more than satisfy your needs.
