It’s been a busy few days in news of the world. Let’s get to it!
Biden. I have to lead off with my thoughts on the biggest story we’ve had in quite a while. Our current President, Brother Joe Biden, has chosen to not seek reelection in November and will step aside for a younger candidate to lead forward. We can assume that this will be Sister Kamala Harris, but a lot can happen before the Demoncrat convention in August. This is all a very large risk, if you ask me. Sister Harris is a known liberal who could lead our great nation into rampant socialism. How will she fare against the return of 45 and his quest to lead our great nation into rampant mass anger? I shall address those of you who were not satisfied with either of the candidates heretofore, principally because of age. May this major change in direction lead you to a renewed interest in your country. And may you bring the wayward disinterested back to the polls in November. I may be a Babatist, but I certainly don’t want anyone in the White House grabbing at cats again. I’m willing to take a chance on the mixed-race lady raised part Hindu, part Babatist and married a to a Jew. Cuz Jesus was a Jew. And kind of a socialist. So there.
Babatist. Holy Smokes! Satan is alive and well and working to destroy Babatist work on earth. First Babatist Church here in Dallas is one of the largest Babatist churches in this great land. Long a church home for thousands over the years, its recent forays into politics on Sunday mornings have bereaved me a bit, but I digress. While the church built a new arena, I mean, sanctuary in 2013, the original church building, dating back to 1890, remained as a secondary chapel and historically recognized structure here. Alas, the flames of Hell descended upon this great old building this past weekend, reducing the glorious temple to walls and ashes. I am heartbroken over the loss of those memories for so many people. Yet I have been on my knees about this tragedy and am led to believe that perhaps this was not the work of the Devil, but rather the consequences of sin committed in the new arena, I mean, sanctuary. Pastor Brother Robert Jeffers has minced his way into the arms of our 45th President and verily kissed that man’s posterior repeatedly even going so far as to have the former POTUS speak from the pulpit during his term in office. I am not here to judge, but perhaps the Lord was sending a warning to Pastor Jeffers of the fires that await him in the afterlife for selling his soul and that of his congregation to such evil. I pray that the gothic building will rise from the ashes and that the arena of church and state splits back to where it belongs. And no, I didn’t not light the match.
Bob. I just hate it when good, clean, family-friendly celebrities pass on. Fortunately, I can rejoice when these fine people lived a good, long life rather than being taken in the prime of life. Such is the way I feel about Brother Bob Newhart who passed last week at the age of 94. Clean humor and family-friendly joking was his trademark. From the early days, his “phone call with God” caught my attention as a clever vehicle for thoughts we’ve all had in our relationship with the Divine. As a young Christian, I remember getting prepared for my Sunday School lesson early on Saturday evenings so that I could watch his program on TV at 8:30. Always entertaining. I became too involved in my ministry to have been able to view much of his later programs, but the impression had been made. Glory to him for his ability to bring his brand of humor to younger generations in these latter years. May the Lord welcome you to glory and may you finally get to have a REAL conversation with God.
