Black Tie Dinner Unveils ‘Beyond the Tie Fund’ & 2024 Recipient

We’ve got exciting news from one of our favorite events of the year! Black Tie Dinner announced its brand-new ‘Beyond the Tie Fund’, and the first recipient is Fort Worth-based LGBTQ Saves—an incredible organization providing safe spaces and vital programs for LGBTQ+ youth across North Texas.

The ‘Beyond the Tie Fund’ was created to support smaller, minority-led organizations that often fly under the radar but make a big impact. The Beyond The Tie Fund still carries the intent of the previously named John Thomas Scholarship Fund, shifting the focus to a broader range of causes. As Black Tie Dinner Senior Co-Chair Dustin Vyers put it, “This fund allows us to distribute a small amount of money to organizations that might not have the resources to be a full beneficiary.”

LGBTQ Saves has been on the front lines of youth support since 2010, and this new funding will help them keep doing what they do best—especially in these politically turbulent times. As Founder Sharon Herrera said, “You have provided HOPE.”

Want to be part of this year’s glitz and glam? The 43rd Annual Black Tie Dinner happens on November 16, 2024, at the Sheraton Dallas, and a few tables are still available. You can also snag a $100 raffle ticket for a chance to win $45,000 toward a new car from Park Place Motorcars.
