It’s official: the glittering glamour of Black Tie Dinner 2024 wasn’t just for show—it raised an astounding $1.45 million for LGBTQ+ organizations, marking a triumphant year for the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ fundraising dinner. This year’s distribution brings Black Tie Dinner’s total contributions to a jaw-dropping $32 million since its humble beginnings in 1982. Let’s take a moment to let that sink in: $32 million over 43 years. That’s not just a dinner—it’s a legacy.
This year, the organization supported an impressive 20 local beneficiaries, the maximum allowed, alongside its long-standing national partner, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. It’s been two decades since the dinner supported this many organizations, proving that even in a challenging political climate, North Texas knows how to rally for what matters most.
Among the local organizations receiving support were Resource Center, Dallas Hope Charities, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, Uptown Players, Transgender Education Network of Texas and Turtle Creek Chorale—just to name a few. This year also featured a special Beyond the Tie Fund recipient, LGBTQ Saves, in honor of co-founder John Thomas. That’s a lot of love to go around.
In 2024, corporate sponsors, community members and donors showed up in full force, sending a clear message: our community supports its own. Co-Chair Dustin Vyers put it best, noting how crucial these funds are as the LGBTQ+ community faces increasing challenges. And Junior Co-Chair Liliana Villarreal reminded us that Black Tie Dinner isn’t just about money—it’s about building a network of hope and support.
As we savor this year’s success, plans are already underway for the 44th Annual Black Tie Dinner, set for November 8, 2025. If you want to be part of the magic—whether by attending, volunteering or applying to be a beneficiary—head over to blacktie.org.
Because here’s the tea: Black Tie Dinner isn’t just a night out; it’s a night that changes lives.
