March: In like a lion, out like a bear.
At least that’s the case in Dallas?and even more so this year with the triumphant return of Texas Bear Round Up (TBRU): Bears in Wonderland.
TBRU 29 takes over the city March 13-16 and if you’re a bear, bear-adjacent, or a lover of bears, you probably already this is one of the best events of the year for the LGBTQ community.
Even if you live in Dallas, book the host hotel (the Hyatt Regency Dallas downtown) to turn this week into a dream staycation.
Highlights of this year’s event put on by The Dallas Bears include an underwear auction, the Mr. TRBU Contest, live performances by Lipps La Rue, Lady Christian, Shantae Morgan, Trisha Davis, Penny Cylin and our own Sister Helen Holy, plus hot hairy guys Cory Chitwood and Hunter Harden performing hosting and eye-candy duties.
The “Original Golden Girls Live On-Stage,” bear yoga for the bendy types and several events at local bars round out the packed schedule of experiences.
Register by February 9 to secure your spot for $180 (a savings up to $35 as prices increase before the event). Add BearDance for $40 while you’re at it.
Weekend passes and individual events are selling (and selling out) quickly so if you’re not already on board the Bear Bus, it’s time to hop on for an amazing journey into Wonderland.
Instead of rabbit holes like Alice encountered, though, we suspect you’ll discover magical feelings among the never ending variety of bear holes.
