First things first.
Valentine’s Day sucks.
Whether you’re madly in love and committed, dating around or happily single, it’s a holiday so ridiculous in its contrivances that we do whatever we can to avoid all aspects of it.
Why dine out when they double the prices, reduce the menu options, and rush you in and out like a bottom filming OnlyFans content and trying to reach 1,000 tops in 24 hours?
Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day (and the entire month of February) opens up a Pandora’s box of romantic possibilities, some of which we actually stand behind. (And we love to stand behind, especially when naked!)
One such activity we endorse: Speed Dating.
Even though the concept has been around since the late 1990s, long before smartphones and apps, speed dating is still relevant for the short-attention-span Grindr/Scruff/Sniffies era.
At least you can get to know someone sitting right in front of you with a full head and face instead of the torsos and landscape pics of the hookup/dating apps.
All this long-winded tirade leads us to tell you about two speed-dating events taking place this week.
First up, a Trans Connection Speed Dating night at JR’s on Wednesday, February 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Then, on Friday, February 14 from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m., TMC presents its own Speed Dating event, hosted by Kylee O’Hara Fatale on the back patio.
Who knows, by the time Valentine’s Day ends, you could meet the person of your dreams and fall in love with the holiday all over again.
