Not all road trips are created equal.
Some are entirely in service of being equal.
On Monday, March 24 at 9:00 a.m., join the ACLU, Equality Texas, HRC, Lambda Legal, and Texas Freedom Network at the All in for Equality Advocacy Day.
It begins at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas. There, leaders will conduct three training sessions (9:15 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 10:45 a.m.) to teach us all how to speak with legislators after marching to the Capitol’s south steps for a noon rally.
We know we need that kind of training because all we want to do is scream and bitch slap each and every one of them.
But fun as that sounds, we know it’s not a productive way to get our point across.
You have to RSVP to attend and you can even register for bus transportation from Dallas. (And Houston and San Antonio, so tell your friends who live there!)
For us, the best kind of road trip is one where someone else does the driving, so this one is ideal.
There will be free food, drinks and T-shirts, plus the event is ADA accessible.
Things are getting scary as shit out there, so we need to do everything we can to voice our concerns before it’s too late.
And that’s worth at least one alcohol-free, beach-less, no-concierge-lounge trip this year.
Equality shouldn’t require sacrifice, but here we are.
Again.
