The curtain’s rising on a brand-new season at Uptown Players, and let’s just say… they understood the assignment. The 2025-2026 lineup is packed with world premieres, smart satire, glitter-fueled comedy and the kind of storytelling that hits home for our queer community—and anyone who’s ever had a complicated relationship with their mother, their chosen family or their bathroom privileges.
This season is classic Uptown: smart, fearless and fabulously inclusive. Whether you’re in it for the laughs, the emotional gut punches or the glitter-covered craziness, there’s something here that’ll speak to you—and probably spill a little tea while it’s at it.
Here’s your sneak peek at what’s coming to the Kalita (and beyond):

Star of Wonder: A Carol Ann Christmas
Dec 5–14, 2025 | Kalita Humphreys Theater
Carol Ann Knipple is back, y’all—and she’s dragging her glitter, madness and half-written script straight to Dallas after her beloved Minnesota theater burns down. What unfolds is a hilariously off-the-rails holiday pageant packed with heart, holiday hits and just enough dysfunction to keep things interesting. Think: holiday spirit meets community theater fever dream—with Micah Green back in the role that made us fall in love (and cringe a little).

Pure Glitter
Mar 20–29, 2026 | Kalita Humphreys Theater
A surprise anniversary party turns into a full-on truth bomb in Douglas Lyons’ (Chicken & Biscuits) latest comedy. With six gay men, one stressed-out host and enough emotional baggage to require its own Uber XL, Pure Glitter is fast, funny and deeply relatable. If you’ve ever judged someone’s turtleneck or cried in a kitchen mid-party—this one’s for you.

Broadway Our Way: Fractured Fairy Tales
Apr 30–May 3, 2026 | Kalita Humphreys Theater
Uptown’s signature fundraiser is once again serving camp with a side of sparkle. This year’s theme? Fairy tales gone rogue. Expect big vocals, sassy witches, rebellious royals and mashups you didn’t know you needed. It’s a storybook fever dream—directed by the fabulous B.J. Cleveland—and you’ll want front-row seats for this rhinestone revolution.

Urinetown: The Musical
Jul 10–19, 2026 | Kalita Humphreys Theater
A dystopian musical about paying to pee? Yup—and it’s brilliant. This Tony winner skewers capitalism, corruption and climate crisis with humor that’s biting, bizarre and surprisingly relevant. Uptown’s take promises to be a wild ride, with just enough Brecht to keep your theater friend impressed.

Mother Play
Aug 21–30, 2026 | Theatre Three
Paula Vogel’s latest play is raw, resonant and a little too real in the best way. Spanning decades, Mother Play explores queerness, resilience and the complicated legacy of a fiercely independent mom. It’s moving, darkly funny and the kind of drama that lingers long after the curtain falls.
Season tickets start at just $135
