We hold these two opinions rather strongly, but every time Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo comes to town, our horizons expand and our minds open a tiny bit more.
Perhaps ballet doesn’t have to be a snoozefest after all.
The Trocks, as they’re more affectionately and succinctly known, are a troupe of men in tutus putting on one helluva funny comedy ballet.
Silly as they may be, these dancers excel at their craft. You’ll be amazed at the strength of their legs (and toes!) and marvel at the bulges inside their tights when they appear onstage as men. (Bitch, pliés!)
Thanks to TITAS/Dance Unbound and AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Trocks are back in town this Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the Moody Performance Hall. Fantastic seats can still be secured for either performance.
So, come experience what might be the most fun night of ballet in your life.
Now, if we can only get them to help us out with that whole opera thing.
