Still We Rise. That’s the theme for this year’s Black Tie Dinner, and it could not be more fitting for the powerhouse about to be celebrated with the 2025 Kuchling Humanitarian Award: Jaymes Black, CEO of The Trevor Project.
If the name Jaymes Black rings a bell, it should — they’re a force. As the first Black, nonbinary lesbian CEO of The Trevor Project, Jaymes has become a national beacon of advocacy, ensuring that LGBTQ+ youth not only survive but thrive. Their leadership has supercharged the visibility of affirming mental health care and expanded access to life-saving services across the country. And now, their incredible journey is being honored right where it all began: Dallas.
Jaymes may helm one of the most impactful LGBTQ+ organizations in the country, but their roots run deep in North Texas. Before they were taking the national stage by storm, they were making waves right here in DFW, empowering BIPOC folks, trans individuals, women and anyone craving a louder voice in the queer space. That’s why this honor hits different.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 8, 2025, when the 44th Annual Black Tie Dinner descends on the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Expect glitz, glam and goosebumps as the community comes together to recognize a leader who proves, daily, that representation isn’t just powerful. It’s life-saving.
Whether you’re there for the gowns, the giving or just to say “thank you” to a real-life superhero in heels or high-tops, this is one dinner you won’t want to skip.
Tickets and sponsorships are live now at blacktie.org.
