This past April, we enjoyed a magical weekend in Austin.
Looking back, it was equal parts the incredible show put on by Kylie Minogue at the Moody Center and our two-night stay at the magnificent Hotel Van Zandt.

Kylie may be long gone from the United States for a while, but Hotel Van Zandt won’t be going anywhere.
And because we know you probably have many opportunities to take the short flight south (or road trip if you dare travel the treacherous I-35 from Dallas), we want to make sure this hip, musically inspired hotel lands at the center of your vacation radar.

We had the privilege of staying in the Presidential Suite thanks to the property’s very generous PR and marketing people. But no matter what category room you reserve, you’re in for a host of amenities.
Hotel Van Zandt welcomes pets, so if you’ve got a well behaved pooch you want to bring along, go for it. They even have special amenities for your four-legged friends upon request.

The front desk offers complimentary rocks margaritas each day from noon to 9:00 p.m., too, and they’re quite delicious.
Geraldine’s, the on-site restaurant, features live music each night, as well as during the weekend jazz brunch, which we checked out the Saturday morning of our stay. Brass Poppy, the lobby bar, makes some killer cocktails, too, especially if you’re looking for a nightcap before settling into your cozy bed.
Our suite had a soaking tub, which we took advantage of as often as possible.
And our in-room record player got plenty of action, with Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson and Sonny and Cher vinyl getting a lot of rotations.
Hotel Van Zandt offers rates exclusively for Texans, as well as several other special offers (up to 25% off!), making it difficult to resist an extended stay.
A month would be really nice.
