Wood, Weak & Work.

What is this world coming to?

Wood.  Brothers and Sisters, I have been recently reminded that, when we put people on pedestals of admiration, it only causes them to fall further when sin moves in.  I have long supported the relative wholesomeness of Sister Taylor Swift and the influence she has had on our young people today.  I was even beaming when her beloved beau proposed to her in such a traditional way.  (Not to mention the fact that she’s actually marrying someone of the opposite sex!)  Imagine, then, my crestfallen spirit upon learning of Sister Swift’s latest musical offerings.  It’s bad enough that she is so scantily clad on the cover of this new recording.  But in my cursory sweep of her lyrics as I search for the hidden inspiration she so often offers, I discovered that Satan himself has possessed her words.  It’s bad enough that the song “Wood” seems to reference pagan superstitions, but it really takes a hard turn midway through.  What begins as a reference to the love of the Lord, ends up in Taylor’s nether regions.  “His love was the key that opened my thighs.”  Disgusting.  If her wedding dress ends up being pure white, I’ll have to conduct a public shaming!

Weak.  We need to remember our military leaders in prayer these days.  I feel confident that those of high rank who run our military branches know what they’re doing far more than an unqualified Cabinet Secretary with a masculinity issue.  I was dumbstruck reading of Brother Pete Hegseth’s speech to the Generals of our Armed Forces last week, effectively calling them weak.  In the midst of his mindless drivel, I found inspiration in the faces of the rank and file.  I haven’t seen a collective rolling of eyes like that since Jimmy Swaggart asked for forgiveness for his hooker addiction.  I fully believe that Petey has some internal fear about his own virility.  We need the Lord to come down and beseech PH with the words, “Peace, Be Still.”  Or as I would more succinctly say, “SHUT UP!”

Work.  It is a mystery to me how our political leaders can just shut down the government whenever they get their panties in a wad over fiscal disagreements.  Most every government job’s payroll is affected EXCEPT for member of Congress, who still get paid for seeing how far their heels can dig in to terra firma.  Regardless of the shutdown, these other devoted government employees are still expected to continue to work without a paycheck.  I don’t know about you, but I’d just call in sick.  Apparently, many of our air traffic controllers are doing just that, threatening the safety of air travel and shutting down airports.  Just this week, the airport in Burbank, California, was closed due to no controllers showing up to work.  This is unacceptable.  Television and movie studio moguls are being forced to land their private jets elsewhere, and people in the San Fernando Valley are having to travel over the hills to fly out of LAX with the commoners.  The horror of it all.  I fear that Congress is taking the Lord’s words out of context.  When He said, “Be Still,” this is NOT what he meant!
