Welcome Back, Potter

We’re off to see the wizard!

And no, not that old guy from Oz. The younger one from Godric’s Hollow.

If you’re a fan of all things Hogwarts, Hufflepuffs and Hermione, then Harry Potter: The Exhibition is right up your Diagon Alley.

Of course, we’d be remiss to not mention the elephant (or dragon) in the room: Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling. Her attitude toward the LGBTQ community, particularly the trans people within, continues to show her as a narrow-minded, terrible bigot.

How someone who created such an expansive universe celebrating outcasts could show herself as something so, ugh, MAGA, continues to baffle us.

Yet the Harry Potter book series was a huge part of growing up for millions.

J.K. Rowling is a terrible person and we can love the story without endorsing her. (How many of us still listen to Michael Jackson, Chris Brown or the newly out Trump supporter, Nicki Minaj, when we know they did terrible things in their personal lives?)

So if you’re ready to reclaim the magic, there’s no better place than this thoroughly engrossing exhibit in North Dallas. This collection of memorabilia from the films, along with several interactive activities, makes it a fully immersive world filled with wonder and imagination.

Better still, if you’re not the cool gay dad (or uncle) and prefer to have your Potter experience a child-free one, book tickets for After Hours access. Tickets to these 18-and-over nights include admission, complimentary snacks, and a free cocktail or mocktail.

Tickets are available for purchase here, so click your mouse or wave your wand (we know we love to wave ours) and get access to something mystically magnificent before it’s gone.
