All The Creatures Are Stirring (And Posing!)

We stopped buying our husband Christmas gifts years ago.

But you’d never know by all the presents under the tree—for our dogs!

Yes, we obsess over our little bark babies more than is probably mentally healthy. They bring us so much joy, though, so who really cares.

We also have a rather substantial collection of dog portraits with Santa over the years. So, it’s high time we get our 2025 snap taken ASAP.

That’s where the SPCA of Texas comes to the rescue. (See what we did there?)

You already know the organization from its many LGBTQ events, our Pet of the Week feature and probably several dogs and cats you’ve met over the years that came from there.

We adopted our oldest from the SPCA of Texas eight years ago and it was such a wonderful experience.

But enough about us and more about the daddy bear with the fetish for red velvet.

Santa will make four separate appearances this holiday season during Paws & Claus: Holiday Portraits with Santa.

Bring up to four pets, and not inky cats and dogs. If you’ve got a ferret, bunny, parakeet or other well-behaved, easy-to-manage creature, bring ‘em on! Pose with them or let them soak up the spotlight all themselves.

For a suggested $25 donation, you’ll get a digital image to share online or make into 10,000 prints to hand out to strangers to prove that yours are truly the most adorable creatures to have ever pooped on your sofa.

The SPCA of Texas LGBTQ+ Task Force hosts a special night on Tuesday, November 2 so you can mingle in a safe space with fellow queer animal lovers.

Book your session now because spots are limited and you better not pour and you sure as heck better not cry if you fail to follow our advice.

Get ready to make some new memories and preserve them in a frame forever!
